I recently acquired a 3d8w :) *clickable thumb*
I've decided it needs abit of a paint an clean, particularly on the grills. A few mods are in the planning stages too (maybe a colour change? :hmmm:  ). The right tape spooler of the right hand deck isnt working properly either. . Oh yeah there is no antenna either haha (anyone know how to fit a new one on?)
Are there any hitachi 3d experts on this form who can guide me or tell me what to do so I dont break the box while attempting to disassemble and fix it? :-D
Thanks!

Isolator42 is the Hitachi 3D master. Hopefully, he will see this thread and give you some pointers. You might go ahead and send him a PM too.

i did have the 3d80. i repainted it along the entire front half of the case and you would never of noticed. the grill would of looked grubby no matter how much i cleaned it  i also panted the 2 outside parts of the grill and laquered the middle so i could keep the '3d super woofer' logo. and it looked quite tidy

what exactly is wrong with ur cassette?

More than likely, it needs new belts. You'll need to open it to find out.
