Hi everyone-Well it came last week while I was gone and I'm really psyched!!
Ramon & Frank & all other tech guys out there-it was just a dirty band selector switch!! The balance is a-ok now, same volume on both sides!
A little dirty on the pots but not bad! Still cleaning-opening up tomorrow.

The cassette makes a click like it wants to do something and this happens when you power it on and off.
I haven't opened her up yet(tomorrow)-What should I look for on this bad boy??
The capstan seems stuck-can't turn by hand at all and the same for spools

BTW-Why doesn't my M-90 have a dial light?? Is this normal??
I though all M-90's had a dial light.
I'm not upset or anything but I was just wondering?

The sound??-Incredible!!
I can't belive the bass these things have and the treble is crystal clear to!
I need to clean the speakers-they're dirty inside and I may need to or like to get a new back because of the stains on the top!
I have antennas for it to!! They're from a M-70-how close are these to M-90 antennas??
Oh well I'm going to listen to my I-pod on this and check that out tonight.
Here's the package and the opening up and the 1st. stage of cleaning-more photos tomorrow after a major going over!
Oh-sorry about the poor front shot-bad lightning and tomorrow-outside shots!!
Have a great one-I'm pysched-GB!!
:-) :surf: :stereo: :dj-party:

Awesome Jeff congrats on the M-90 and getting the sound sorted.
most of the times just a good over all cleaning can sort out alot of problems.
1. The sound you hear from the deck upon power on/off is normal.
2. M-70 antennas will probably be a bit short for the 90
3. No dial light on the m90 either sorry but that aluminum finish dial is far to reflective for a dial light.
She should clean up really good man. I am really happy for you.
Enjoy it

Hi Frank-Thanks alot!!-That means alot coming from you!
I love this thing-I'm going to give the speakers a going over and look at all functions and belts and just clean the heck out of it.
BTW-I'm loving your Panasonic restoration!
I'm just psyched that there is no major problem with the amps or speakers or anything but the cassette deck.
Have a great one-GB. :-)

nice going jeff --
you took a chance and won $$$ !!

be glad your deck clicks  (mine doesnt) :sadno:
so thats a good sign-

and - imho--the only pissy part of the formidable m90--
is no dial light :-D

as for your eject button --
it may be much quicker for you to polish//sand/dremel out the scratches-
than to replace it.

Hi Ira-Thanks for that!
I'm very determined to get this deck going.
Does anyone know of any place or any members who can fix this in the Tn. area??
I'm willing to pay some to get this going.
I just can't belive the motor was spinning earlier!
I'm so excited but at the same time-PLEASE HELP!! I need tech guys! :-O :hmmm:
I can live without a dial light it's the cassette that concerns me.
I have more photos after the second cleaning (outside shots).
Coming later today!
Have a great one-GB. :-) :-D
