Hi people,

I've bougth another JVC PC-100 (the one with detachable deck).
After rebelting I notice, that sometimes it sounds very bad, with lack of bass, sharp highs, and lots distortion (figure that with volume at 20% the system sounds like it were at 100% or more !!!!)
The problem is the deck, because with aux and radio works perfect.
All the switchs inside the PC-100 were cleaned and the contact array also.
If I turn off and then on sometimes sound ok, sometimes get good sound, but bit low and with lack of highs, but most of the time is like I've described above, ie, distortion, very high volume and very sharp highs.

I'm really lost there :'-( :'-( :'-( :'-( :'-( :'-( :'-(

Any help or suggestion ?

Pedro

If the deck has input connections (that connect it with the main unit), try a few shots of contact cleaner in them and then attach and detach the deck to the main unit a few times to work it good. That would be my first thing to try.

Of course, turn off and unplug the system before doing that. :-)

Thanks guys !!!!!

It was caused by a bad solderign joint which belonged to an internal pot. I was lucky to find it

Glad to hear that you got it repaired! Those PC-100s are cute little boxes indeed. :afro:
