In order to access the For Sale section, members are required to have a minimum number of posts - the required number is between 1 and 50. It could be 2 or 23 or 17 or 48.

Posts of new members are monitored for unusual activity. Spam posting, also known as post whoring, will lead to one, or more, of the following:

1) one or more of your posts will be deleted
2) your post count will be manually adjusted or might even reset to 0
3) you will be placed in For Sale limbo regardless of post count until a moderator deems otherwise

For new members, there is a fine line between genuine interest in a "new purchase" or a "new find" and an attempt to bypass the requirements for the For Sale section. Any topic or post that implies or hints at selling will be deleted and your post count adjusted.

If you still cannot access the "For Sale" section, then you do not have the minimum number of posts.

All sale topics and posts made by members who don't have access to the For Sale section will be deleted. There is also a good possibility that said member will also be deleted. If a member who has access to the For Sale section posts a For Sale topic outside of the For Sale section, it will be moved.

Why does Boomboxery have a minimum post requirement for the For Sale section?
We have had more than a few noobs join Boomboxery looking to take advantage of long-time members by either continually altering deals or offering items for sale that they don't even have. It was discussed, and decided, to implement the requirement. It discourages noobs who don't care anything about being a contributor to the website and helps protect existing members from losing money.

There's NO buyer or seller protection on here, unlike what eBay can offer, and it's the least that new members can do to ensure people have a trouble free as possible dealing with buyers and sellers on here.

This isn't a big deal for most people and it serves as a way to familiarize you to the site and to the people on here and find out what Boomboxery is all about.

The Boomboxery community offers a massive amount of information and help on collecting and maintaining boomboxes and if this is too much for you give back in return, then we're sorry but this is the only way we've found that weeds out those who set out to exploit the collecting community and then disappear.

If you want to sell to or buy from members, give us a chance to get to know you better - it's all about trust.
