panny RX-C38

i received a panasonic RX-C38 about aweek ago from member blue.it worked amazing up untill thursday.tha problem is tha whenn its in radio and line in mode tha power light is on,,but whenn i slide it too tape mode it seams ti recieve no power.when i hit play fastforward ect nothing happends.i temoraryly solved tha problem but putting it in radio mode,,holding down tha direction switch botton,,slideing it intoo tape modee,,engaging play,,and relesing tha direction button,,getting tha tape too playy in reverse,,but refuses to playy forward.soo yesterdayy i took her apart i took a look at tha insides and i have hypothieised tha issue..when i press down tha direction botton it dosnt stick.i can see tha part moveing but it wont catch.i can figure out how too fix this issue.if anyone has an insight it would bee greatly appericaited.
