.....well,my BIN Telefunken Studio 1 finally arrived but in a functionally compromised state. It seems to be stuck on the "Jesus" station.I've listened and learned a lot of very helpful ideas concerning dealing with my mid-life crisis but I'm just not getting the full "Studio 1" experience. The totally awesome :jawdrop: weighted :jawdrop: tuning knob just spins around...and around..while the tuning scale needle remains firmly dialled in on 91.1.

Now comes the fun part.I have to crack this baby open to further investigate the nature of the problem. Can anyone give me a correct procedure for "going in""? I've opened a lot of boxes but this ones different. The knobs don't seem to pull off and I notice tiny (screw?) holes in the side of each one. The only outer case screws are slight looking things oddly on the cases edges. As I don't want to make any big mistakes, some advice would be appreciated.

Another functionally impairing reality is the necessity of a DIN cable for connecting my mp3 player.I've looked around on the web for a "5 pin DIN to stereo headphone mini-plug but all links seem to take me to England,Europe,Australia,etc..Does anyone know of a source stateside? Thanks guys :-)

The Studio 1 is no joke to work on. There are no a lot of scrws holding it together. You will find those easily. You need a very small allen wrench however to remove the knobs. Once the knobs are removed, you will need to remove two other screws and the the flat bolt thread...oh screw it.

Gimme a couple of days if you have the patience...I have a parts unit I can take photos of so you can see what I mean as well as how the components slide out. :-D

I can also make you a DIN cable if you'd like. There are always some on eBay as well. :-)

oldskool comes through again! You are THE MAN all the way round here at S2go

Certainly take all the time u want and I'll be here. Not having to reverse engineer the boxes construction will greatly help me with time, grief, and possible destructive mistakes!

My Tele 1 is far less useful and quite annoying without the ability to change stations. The one it does get doesn't even come in completely clear.I'm hoping it is a simple issue to fix.Though compromised I feel drawn to this box every time I look at it.

Actually I went ahead and ordered a cable from Ebay Uk (as Redbenjoe suggested-thanks to him  ).Thanks for offering to help with that though.Again,I appreciate your recognition of my post and my issue I need to solve

last minute edit-a parts box???might you have a battery cover?I NEED ONE!!!
