JVC PC-5 Cassette Deck

I have a Jvc pc-5 boom box which i have had since new. I have just retrieved it from the garage and it all works except the cassete deck plays the cassettes but at about half speed. Can anyone tell me how to cure this and what i would need to do this. I do not have any manuals so do not know how to get to any of the parts.
Any advice would be appreciated as it has a wonderfull sound. shocked the life out of my teenage daughters.

One is around 20MB and the other is less than 2MB. I can't remember if either is the Service Manual.

I'm sure we have some PC-5 owners out there who can offer more assistance.

i would look at the back of the motors and see if theres a speed control screw .

did you ever get the cassette deck working? I had to replace all of the rubber belts on mine. I have two PC-5 JVCs.....cheers!

Look on the back of the cassette deck motor to see if there's a black rubber plug usually it's an opening with x that you can poke a screwdriver into and there's a screw that turns and adjust the motor speed.
