Maybe it's just me -

I got my Telefunken Hifi Studio 1 M on Sunday - and although I'm loving the build, the quality, the loudness and the BASS

I am not loving the LACK of treble - yeah, I said it
LACK OF TREBLE!

This thing is really mid rangey to the point of it sounds like a mono unit - if you get what I'm saying.

I have to wind back the bass and MAX the treble pot to get a palatable sound.

Is this just a case of changing a pot/resistor?

Any clues?

Or is this box just a loud bassy mid range honky box? :afro:

i believe that the deck on the tele has a small nylon screw that adjusts the capstan wheel if is on adjusted correctly the wheel will have to much play ,, if you lay the box forward and the clicking goes away then you need to adjust or its missing ,, if it continues doing then you might have to take a closer look to what other part might be causing problem ,, those decks are very well built except for the top metal bar , the plastic tabs that holds it tends to break off on one side i have had to repair them not a biggie but it will not sometimes engage the mechanism when that happens,, for some reason the tabs were not thick enough so with all that spring pressure tens to put a load on those tabs :-)
