Sits a Sharp GF-575 :-D

I really like this box, great performer, solidly built, works 100%, both tapes eject properly(!), it's been said before these are a bit bass light as are many GF's but the overall sound is terrific and really crisp.
Recording is superb too, on all tape types. :-)

steppa..that box is lovely..my 575 used to be as clean as yours,it was like brand new..but then i put it in my loft,it was in a bin bag for over a year, when i got it back down, all the grey plastic round the tuner and inside the controls had turned yellow,i was devastated..i have`nt looked at it since...look after that beauty mate..
oh and twin antenna`s would be awsom..

Sure will Gettoman...

That particular section of plastic seems predisposed to yellowing, mine has the very slightest hint of it, always has since I've owned it, but never got any worse.
The plastic inside the cassette door of the GF8989 suffers a similar trait, mine has gone off grey to yellow(ish).

I assumed it was non-UV stabilised polycarbonate or ABS but if yours was covered up out of the light it may be some form of air reactivity :-/ :hmmm:

Another fine specimen you have there, 2steppa! It looks naked though. Maybe you should get some labels for it. ;-) :-)

That radio looks awesome. Fatdog is right though, some labels would even make it more stunning ;-) :-)

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers all..

Geoff, she's not far off mint, one of two 'abrasions' hardly want to call them scratches, just a little 'play wear' as they say!

Hey Fatdog, I was actually picturing it with labels as I've got some rather nice ones on my 9494 :-P

Toledo, OH!
Alot of people hate on this model, not sure why? The sound is decent and it goes pretty loud, not the greatest bass response, but it can jam. I love it. I have the version with the black controls and the goofy colors, it looks ghetto. Yours on the other hand exudes class!

Nope, Mine has seperate base and treble.
I took a close look at the controls and I don't have the Dolby function like yours, that toggle is loudness on my box.
I don't think your version has a loudness button. :hmmm:

Cheers Hemiguy :-)

Actually I didn't

When I photographed the Hitachi the other day I made the mistake of rotating the boombox without picking it up, there was some light grit between it and the hood and well......... aaaaaarrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!! :sadno:

I've used some blue matched T-Cut compound and it's mostly taken the light scratches out but I could've kicked my own ass HARD as you can imagine
