My last trip to a local goodwill and finally something although it wasn't a boombox it works in conjunction with my boomboxes. It's a Luxman K-105 autoreverse cassette deck! This Luxman has the quietest tape mechanism I've ever heard, there's no clicking, clunking or clanking for any function it just very quietly performs the function. I've never heard fast forward or rewind that was nearly silent until this one.

The scoop on this one is:

This was a $600 retail deck from 1985 to 1990

Aint that the truth!
Actually if I had been just 3 or 4 minutes earlier I would have snagged a Harman Kardon AVR-330 in great shape as well. A guy was calling his buddy and pissing his pants at the same time to tell him about it, you would have thought the guy just found the secret to immortality the way he was carrying on.
:-D

you never know, could have been one of these scenario's,

person 1 - you did what with my AVR-330?,
person 2 - I gave it to goodwill
person 1 - WHAT!! , I had my (fill in this blank), stash, money, etc, hidden inside of it!!, you ass-hole!!
person 1 - go right down there and buy it back NOW
person 2 - ok,
person 2 calling from store - I found it!!! WOO HOO!!

 Too funny!

Actually this guy was going on about all the cool blue lights and it weighed over 50 pounds (the 330 only weighs about 33lbs) and how it probably put out over 100 watts per channel (actually is 55 watts but they are quality watts). He just kept repeating himself, I thought he was going to hyperventilate and pass out so I stuck close just in case, I could have grabbed the AVR and ran while he was down for the count. :-D

That was my reaction at first bobby, no way does goodwill have a Luxman mixed in with the Emerson, Lloyds, go video, Sony and Kenwood Tape Decks and VCR's. I had to think about it for a second, my first thought was no way this is some knock off crap. Well it's real and it's pretty sweet. :-D
