Keep it safe Jeff!

I'm amazed how well preserved this radio is and learning about the RCA jack being that old!!

You as well brother!

Thanks Rimmer36 I just posted this to get away from all this covid19 news. Don't get me wrong it's important to keep up with the news, but I thought posting this which has some dry humor and a bit of history will bring you back to life, back to a happier place.

There is a big collector in Downers Grove, IL.

He has his house all filled with tube radios of the past. I've listened to those massive and huge types, but cannot remember the name and model number.
Sadly the sound never impressed me at all.

I have a collection of SABA German radios from the sixties! They sound the best with 14 tubes, FM decoding and stereo. The sound quality is unbelievable!
HiFi sound with 6 Alnico speakers.
I completely restored those radios with full recapping and replacing weak tubes.

They are huge on size with 10" speakers in the front, weighs like 50Lbs.
I have several in my collection SABA Freiburg 125, Schwarzwald Automatic 6--3D, 300 automatic 10T and many.

I am posting a pic of a SABA 400, not my pic.

BBL I remember a pair of AR's speakers where we use to do our laundry in NYC having that same cloth style and oak wood. The enclosure were deep and the sound was just outstanding!

That's a nice table top SABA radio! Your place must look like a museum!

How Germans made those high end radios always amazed me!
Those alnico speakers are green in color and they sound the best!
Motorized auto tuning is the fun part! The knobs turns and lock in at a station then go back and forth to align perfectly and stop.

Luckily I have room for my collection and always get yelled at for buying more.
It is an adventure to get them in without my better half seeing it. I know all the tricks... to do that.

It is not easy! But the love for these gadgets never ends.... is the fun part!
I'm getting old and now slowed down a lot on acquiring more. :-D

Nice I noticed the Mid's and Treble are on the front and Bass speakers are on the side.

Germans always build quality things, love the motorized auto tuning!!

The sound quality is supreme!
