Hello from New Jersey!

Hi everyone and thank you. Because of this site I was able to get my Grandfather's Sanyo M-X920 to work (mostly)
A bunch of laborers were cleaning out his house and threw his radio in the dumpster. My Aunt remembered how much I loved it and saved it for me. I'm on a mission to bring it back to how I remembered it as a kid. So far I relamped the dial and changed the bands on the cassette player. I have 2 remaining repairs and the radio will be ready to go. I could have sworn the needles on the left side of the dial lit up, am I wrong in the assumption? Also, the first led on the AMSS lights up but AMSS does not work, even after pressing the program button. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome, this is a great site with loads of info from very helpful members.
Is this your first box to work on? It is one of the harder ones to fix especially the AMSS functions.
The only needle lights I've seen on these is in this thread http://boomboxery.com/forum/index.php/topic/9929-sanyo-m-x920-issues/ I think they were a mod?

Yes, this is my first. From what I have been reading this is a tough one to fix.

Meters do not light separately and only 1 bulb lights up tuner. Good luck with restoration and the amms.
