Looks like a JVC RC-636 or 646

This is definitely a JVC RC-646 it comes in a silver colour.
The JVC RC 636 comes in black colour.

If i was to take a guess i would say that this was David Byrne's (Talking Heads singer)
boombox .

There is a picture of him boarding on a plane to Mexico carrying it.
I love this pic and this is the reason i have this boombox high on my wantlist.

I recognized it immediately! It was my first boombox ever that I owned in the ‘80s just before Dad bought my M70 for me. I’m still trying to find a decent example of the 646JW. Interestingly, the 646LB has a white radio dial panel. I want them both.
