Hi trying to resto a 9000, originally I had not much except a buzzing on the unit. I replaced the power amp chip and a couple caps on the power amp board and now when I switch the unit on I get a faint hissing from the speakers and some faint crackling when I slide the volume. There's no lights, when I power on but tape spins when press play, FF ect. The guy I got it from said the transformer blew when he put 240v through the 110v side (not sure) however it puts out 17v with the mains and 16v on the battery. I haven't tested the amperage yet. Can someone let me know their readings for there's please so I can either move on or take it to the nearest shooting range.

Dirty switches might cause sound issues, so you have to spray off some contact cleaner on all the switches and recording bar if not already.
