Hi,I have a very cool little Sanyo M9970,the one with the coaxial speakers.
I need to replace the belts and clean up the cassette mechanisms. As usual with Sanyos it’s a whole unit it looks like to pull out. Like all hard wired like Aiwas.
Can anyone or has anyone replaced belts on theirs?!
I really love this little radio as I bought one just like it brand new in the spring of 1980 in Manhattan,NYC!

My tape deck is slow and is slipping in the FF/Play side. Main drive capstan belt seems ok but the belt for the FF/play side is slipping, well it doesn’t surprise me it’s 39 years old!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!😊🎼🎶📻

I’ve got a little oil in the motor and cleaned a belt and ran it twice for about 15-20 minutes and it’s getting really close to speed especially by slightly pressing down on the pause button. Just needs belts. Hopefully someone will have worked on one of these.
Love the quality and gas decent sound on this little Boombox!😊😎

Hi Floyd,I believe it can be removed as a whole unit off the top(both boards) so I can get at the cassette mechanisms.
It’s a typical Sanyo thing, packed quite tight but I’m sure it can be done. Just wondering if anyone has one of these and has opened theirs up.😊
