i dont feel confident enough to do it, it's eating more tapes than i have had for breakfast lol

i don't want to see another box trashed what is a rubber softener lads

Brother have you tried roughing up the spindle with sand paper for some better grab. Also invest in a magnifying glass they work lol.

Thanks every one i have been working on this all day and getting nowhere, i dont even have sand paper to try floyd's idea and im skint lol but thanks for being there lads :-) :thumbsup:

I don't believe in restoring rubber!
When the chemical bonds are broken, nothing can tie them together.

Please buy a new one or get from other boomboxes.

Have you tried Platenclene? It's a well regarded restorer of rubber motor mounts, turntable platters etc. Never seen it used on pinch rollers but can't see why it wouldn't be worth a try.
