Hello. When cleaning the record bar with deoxit do you have to get the deoxit underneath the record bar where it connects to the board? Also after spraying do you have to engage and disengage the play/record and stop on the tape player after?

I've not taken one of these apart yet, but i'm pretty sure the gubbins you need to reach are inside the switch underneath the plastic stuff, not underneath the whole thing. After spraying you can manually move the switch back and forth with a finger on the plastic lever sticking out. No need to touch the deck buttons.

There is a white plastic lever that covers the copper contacts. So yeah you have to get the cleaner under that lever. Spraying on top of it won't work. You have to spray through one of the ends.
But if you can't see any of the copper contacts when you look into the ends, you'll need to disassemble it for cleaning.

Ok thanks. It does comes from the function switch. How do I locate the record bar? There is another rectangular bar.

Is the record bar the rectangular bar to the right of the cassette deck?13F7E744-11DA-411A-B7E4-A5149B9FCEFC.jpeg3D850811-C2A4-4FF9-B4C5-1005C12177F7.jpeg

It's not visible from that pic. It's probably behind the deck. Just look for a lever behind the deck that moves when you push the Record key.
