A little boombox trivia about the Mclaren boombox...it was instrumental in the design of the Clairetone used in the movie Breakin'. The set designer told the story to Howie, who researched the origins of the Breakin' boombox. The set designer gave a brand new out of the box Clairtone to a young set artist to make as a working prop for the movie. The young artist used the Mclaren boombox design and colors to create the Breakin' boombox. Looking at the pics there are obvious borrowed design cues.
