Boomboxery friends i present to you an early in the morning find from this past Sunday. :-)
No introduction needed because this is the industry standard the Legendary Technics SL-1200 MK2.
There wasnt a section with ''other finds'' so i am posting it in the general chat section.
Its not in the best condition, missing a lot of parts like the spindle, the tonearm, the dustcover
the armrest the 45 rpm adaptor and maybe more but for 30 e i had to get this poor fella back home.So i did.
I couldnt just leave it there.
Its with a humble experienced technician guy an expert with turntables
right now and hopefully in my hands fully restored in about a week.

Here is a pic on how it looked yesterday.

Ofcourse there will be a picture uploaded when this baby will be with me again
just for the shake of the before and after pic.
Never opened a turntable before and i wouldnt want to mess up with it

I also saw a mini hitachi among others.

I have a knockoff Audio Technica 120LP that works amazing. I inherited a bunch of my moms old records some of which are Greek and I remember when I was a kid when she played them. Those Technics turntables go for big money these days. The poor little Hitachi is just screaming to be rescued from its surroundings!

I found 2 of these in working condition at the junk yard in a van , the owner gave them to me for free and i sold both on eBay within 5 minutes of listing them. Made damn good money but the shipping was hard and they made it OK .

Thanks for the links with the spare parts you guys ! :-)
Thank you also for the nice words. It is still with the technician, a lot of work to do
but it will come back to life plus it will come with a new head and a new dustcover !
Cant wait to post some pics of it fully restored.

As i promised exactly 7 months(better late than never!) ago here is a picture
just for the shake of how it looked before and how it looks after
I posted this find which it seamed ruined.
Finally the Legendary Technics SL-1200 MKII its back in my hands !
I am really excited to have the King of Turntables fully restored doing its
thing once again. After a pandemic and a lot of patience the tech found the parts
missing, cleaned a spilled drink from the 80s from the inside and i found a used dustcover.
All in all this costed nearly 200 e.
I am sure it will play records for many years to come. :)
