Coming soon! Wall of Boom in Garage

I put up some shelves from Ikea tonight for my growing collection of radios. I am up to 5 not including the Cariole 8-track player on the shelf. The radios will be in a climate controlled environment. They will greet me as I leave and return home! The brick wall was originally on the exterior of the house before we built the garage. It had stucco that I hand chiseled off to reveal the brick. I think it has a cool punk feel to it.
The top shelf will one day display a Sharp VZ-2000 and a JVC RC 70 or higher :) For now, I spent too much.

I like that display. The brick wall style is seen a lot in the old buildings in downtown Nashville, and the shelves are modern looking. The combination works well.

I hope that top shelf can hold at least 40 pounds.

I used #12 hardware with 2" screws through plastic anchors that have ridges on them for bite. We mount 100lb electric panels with lesser hardware :)
Funny as my wife and I are contemplating a move within 5 years somewhere to the southeast. Tenn is on the short list followed by SC, NC, VA VT and Maine. Our house appreciated dramatically so we would cash out to be mortgage free in another. So anyway, Yes, I love the "loft" brick look and would be happy to have it in the next place. Thanks for the compliment!

I can tell you many men would sacrifice at least one testicle for that garage.
:agree:

That garage floor is most likely cleaner than the floor I walk on in my house.

....okay everyone. We have found where the 2019 Sunshine Meet is going to be

Nice man cave for sure :-)

I would love to host it! We have plenty of parking space! The backyard is still under construction ;)

The official mascot will be Angel the pigeon. He owns the place. Free roaming with properly placed protection :)

It's a new house under construction. Concrete tile roofs are used on new houses and they stack them for a month to get the weight to settle. From there they lay them normally. This pic was taken a while ago. That house is nearly complete.
Ah. Understood and makes sense. I'm very inspired. Maybe one day I may be able to be the proud owner of such an establishment. Congratulations on such a wonderful home....with a great future wall of boom :-)

Thank you! This house was once the Termite Terrace. It took us 5 years to get to this stage. We worked hard and sold nearly everything we owned to build it. I was lucky to find an excellent framer that only charged me $20 an hour. Really lucky. He even did the roof with my help.

We got it for a steal as it needed a mega ton of work. Sold off my beloved TR6 car just to pay for the garage addition. My wife sold her VW and borrowed her dads spare car for two years to save on insurance and payments. Alot of sweat and tears went into this but I am OCD and had to do most of it myself. If a trade came over, they thought we were rich and their price went up just by glancing across the property.
This is why I can't afford a JVC RC90. I dream of one or even a Sanyo 620.

Just an updated photo since my Flickr account had been messed up. The latest acquisition is the Oreanda box I picked up last May or June when it finally arrived. I didn't get a chance to go through it or even attempt to play it. It did come with two Russian cassettes which is a bonus! There is a hidden compartment under the tape deck. Theres something really cool about this unit. The seller did provide a translation of the functions but I misplaced the paper. I am sure it will turn up sooner or later!
