You must be subtle with the title. It's no soccer event, it's an appointment. A flash-mob with four people on prob.

You wonder who? Here's the crew:

a singer of songs hammer and tongs
a rude on a bad mood
a badass named after some grass
(fourth speaks too much -- he can beat the Dutch!)

Here's the number: 14th September. Can you name the site for the rite to turn into a game?

A tip for the lazy, though it sounds crazy: member Floyd may help fill the void.

Now outfox the orthodox, try your hand at the box

Identify, identify... Aye, why, now you've no alibi... :-)

Nice Rap Sal, your the Italian lyrical miracle

I want to thank Boomboxery members Samovar, Hurb and Hisrudeness for making the pilgrimage, from both north and south to visit my Boom Room. We shared stories, did some site seeing and of course some serious BOOM ROOM'in

It was the UN meeting of boombox collectors, a true "International" gathering, British, Dutch, Italian and American (and Korean as my wife was there too
)

I always learn so much from meeting with collectors. No matter how many radio's you own or have touched, there is always more to learn and experience.

Hisrudeness shared the subtle techniques of boombox tracking "in the wild", Samovar shared the value of local contacts and Hurb taught me that "If you ain't Dutch, you ain't Much!"

Thank you all for your time and travel

The UN members, with a tiny Sansui that Samovar brought for us to pose with in Pompeii

On a back-drop of 2-2500 years of ruins, 92+ degrees of heat and the ominous presence of Vesuvius. A gathering of collectors.

This is legendary!! What a meet and what a location!! I'm guessing Pompeii????

Great members from different corners of the globe gathering and having some fun....doesn't get better than this! I'm jealous...

I've had the great pleasure of meeting Samovar in person and in the picture of he and Chris, Sal's smile brought back some great memories of our meetup in Toronto.

Cheers Guys! A great time indeed!

Glad to see you're enjoying Italy, Chris!
Yeah we all had a great time thanks to Chris's and Ellen's hospitality, the weather, the location and some serious boom room action (unfortunately I can't post a video so you have to take my word)

Indeed it's the lovely Sansui FX-300, you should change your nickname into EagleEye! :w00t:

I treasure the memories of our meetings at the Elephant & Castle, Geoff. Let's hijack a plane and grant an encore either here or there one of these days :-)

(And yes, it's Pompei! After the Pink Floyd, the Four Boomers arrived and conquered it)

Great stuff Sal, always happy to see members getting together.
Ditto! I often think to revive the wonderful Boombox and the City days, Dave. With some 80s units and a bottle of whiskey. Oh well, now I need to hijack TWO planes...

A couple of souvenirs from the trip. Firstly the little custom made boombox accessory zip case. Thank you Mrs 920!
Secondly a Walkman found at the Naples flea market. It doesn’t matter that it doesn’t work. It was the King of the flea’s Sal that negotiated for me and that’s more than enough credibility!

That backpack makes you look like the local guide leader of a Boomboxery Tour Group, Sal. You just need a little C100 flag on a stick to complete the package :)

P.S. When you've got some time could you take a few more pics of that Sansui? It looks very interesting!!

In Pompei we could smuggle only the Sansui:

but I was able to throw in also my backpack

As Rori pointed out, on our way to the airport we did a blitz apparition at the fleamarket. No boxes to speak of, except for a lovely Tosh that I had first noticed on my first visit to Chris's about one year ago:

http://boomboxery.com/forum/index.php/topic/27291-24-hours-with-samovar-in-naples/?hl=%2Bhours+%2Bwith+%2Bsamovar

We left it there, I didn't ask but I think the price was still not right:

It's so funny that the guy has the same radio, in the same plastic wrap from a year ago. He is really firm on that price!

I would like to point out that the picture on the material that little bag is made from is my actual collection! (Very proud of that)

That Panasonic was the real gem of the day and I will also add that we were moving through that market in quite the clip. Sal has a very keen eye for not just boomboxes, but walkman's too as he found a few on his last visit that I had walked right past.

I, however, managed to find these two rare tapes that Hurb had walked right on past.

I have too admit, I felt kind of bad buying these two while Hurb didn't get anything. But then I thought..."Man, these are gonna sound so good in my M90"

then I was like "If you are Dutch, you ain't got much!"
(JK'n, your a good man Hurb!)

Sal's back pack was perfect for keeping the group together. Everyone instinctively followed
