There's definitely some room for minor improvements like an internal battery, most likely left out due to size constraints,
but it's a nice start and this might be the first DIY project I've seen with 3D printed faceplates. This channel is loaded with DIY bluetooth projects BTW.

Innersting... I recently was discussing with Caution to see if he could draw up something like these bezels for me to get 3D printed with the goal to create a project like this, with DIN dimensions so that standard headunits could be used. Of course mine would've had the PS built in as a matter of convenience. The challenge is printing large parts affordably because I wouldn't have wanted a project this small.

Interesting. The speaker trims are overdone, but I applaud his work at designing it all himself....If indeed that's what he did.

The better solution however is to browse Ebay for speaker trims from old home hifi speakers, like real metal tweeter grills and such. They look so much better than plastic.

True but that would only work for one-off projects since the availability of any particular available used piece varies and additionally, it’s probably impossible to find the exact size you’d need for the particular project. This guys speaker is the same height as everything else.

The Nakamichi P10113 is a similar premade concept with removable faceplates, but comes without internal battery as well. There's much more room inside to install one however. It was also sold under the Brand Boss Way.
