In-Car Boomboxing

My newly repaired GF-525 has a 15v DC socket on the side, but obviously, most cars electrical systems run from a 12v power supply. Will it still run off 12v? Logically, I imagine it would have the same effect as partially discharged batteries, but it probably isn't that simple. Suggestions/comments please

Most car batteries run at 13-14v

When running it's about 13.8-14.8 volts, which is plenty. If your car powers the lighter socket when the car is off, you'll get 12.6, which is still going to work
