This Crown was a great deal but needed tons of cleaning and paint. There were bugs all over inside and unit barely even powered up. I even used some clear to try and protect the information decals on inside of unit. One issue was the headphone jack was shot and only allowed headphones to work and no sound to be directed to speakers. After replacing the headphone jack the right channel still had issue and narrowed that down to the right channel speaker jack traces being damaged so had to run wires for traces. Deck was bad to needed full attention as well. Got her all done and everything fully working and super happy about looks and sound. This is probably my 4th Crown 950 and what is there not to love about these. They are awesome units and I’m very happy 😃 Attached File  7D797886-A3BF-49A6-A1F2-EEDDA39B7E7B.jpeg   138.34K   0 downloadsAttached File  0ED674E1-7CE5-4836-9AB4-6CCE45D1573B.jpeg   100.64K   3 downloadsAttached File  044ED0E6-106B-4D6C-AFC4-D8B2D82D119B.jpeg   101.95K   5 downloadsAttached File  98580713-3C89-4934-A6DE-2F58F114525F.jpeg   135.29K   7 downloadsAttached File  6A0D206A-D9C4-4B32-98D7-5CB669CA4787.jpeg   128.19K   6 downloadsAttached File  9076D017-3DA3-44B2-BB8E-3D7ED1AE3934.jpeg   103.85K   3 downloadsAttached File  851E837A-8949-46A7-AC4B-7E5157093F34.jpeg   106.91K   1 downloads

Based on the back case, I can only imagine how yucky everything else was.  Take more pictures of the process next time, Bill.  We love that kind of stuff!

Great job on making that Crown happy again.  :hooray:

Great restoration Bill.
That door sticker looks great and makes the box pop a little but there’s no music search on the 950’s. I’m assuming it’s for a 960?

Can't go wrong with that crown. Looking good. I miss having a little blaster project laying around :-(

Besides the restoration which is brilliant in its own, what i love most in this topic is the pictures. And

from all the pictures the one that is standing out is the close up picture of the sticker

with the details on the inside of the boombox.

I simply love this kind of details. Hats off to you Bill for thinking about protecting this

old stained sticker from the manufacturing Factory.

The Bbox is now closed (i know) but i would love to see a close pic of the

stickers from the 4th pic from the back cover.

When i was younger and dumber in this hobby i used to ruin this

kind of stickers by taking or washing them off. Waht was i thinking?

Great Job Bill.
