I honestly have no idea what people are thinking when they list radio's at these ridiculous prices. Have any sold for $10k? Do eBay buyers see that and think "It must be the best one, so I better get it"?
I suppose, if they get one sold for that crazy price than they win. I'm not really sure if that helps or hurts the hobby. I haven't seen ALL radio prices lifted to the point where it locks everyone out of the game. Still plenty of deals to be had on eBay and in the wild.
There are now so many people collecting boomboxes from every corner of the world (compared to 10 years ago) and more just realizing that "Hey, I would like to have the radio I owned back in the day", AND so many more online communities (facebook, instagram, twitter, ect) for people to connect, that it's likely we haven't seen the top pf this yet.
Happy collecting!
