Sony CFS-9900

Bought off local selling site.

Replaced the main 2 belts and waiting on the counter belt that works atm.

still working out how to get the FF and rewind to work but playback forward and reverse works great.

Just as I remember I bought this same model back in 1985 from my local sony shop.

yes it is very heavy and I remember even more with the 10 X D batteries

I have managed to work out why the rewind and FF are not working.

Looks like the electromagnet is used to spin a gear under the FR pulley

I will remove the gear today and give a lube even though it seems to turn freely.

iv'e had a couple of these in the past and think there great boxes

I now have the cassette working again except for the reverse playback.

Had to raise the tape mech up by 1mm to get the rewind and FF to work but this causes the reverse playback to jam and snap the plastic arm off that moves the slider.

Oh well thats good enough
