Mini box recommendations?

Hi,
Recently I found myself in need of a small box to bring to the dorm. I need one that sounds good (not necessarily loud), has some features to play with (such as music search, loudness, short wave receiving capability, etc.), is not very rare, and is not insanely expensive. (I would consider good sound first.)

So can you guys give me some suggestions on it?

(I have the Sanyo M-7900k, Hitachi TRK-8155 and Toshiba RT-8440s in my consideration right now (That's probably the only small models I know :( ) So I really need your help, since this is probably the box that would accompany me for 3 years.)

Thanks!

The three models I mentioned are offered at these prices in working condition on local website(USD): Sanyo MR-V8: $150, Hitachi TRK-8155: $120, Toshiba RT-8440: $100 (Lots of chrome corrosion and doesn't look clean at all).

The best mini ever (sound-wise and power-wise) is the Sansui FX-500, and that's a fact. The only problem is, I only know of one in existence. It's the one that member oldskool69 bought from me.

I think you are on the right track with the Sanyo minis. Just about anything from the 7800 and 7900 lines are going to be great little boxes. Be sure to look for bass / treble controls if that is a preference.

Sansui makes another mini, the FX-700, which is a fantastic little beast! It even has a 5-band equalizer! :w00t:

Yes that Sanyo is a mini, but the other two are what we call "mid-size"
