not sure if it was restored by Ted as he passed away a while ago but i would love this one for sure along with the rest of us
If you read the video description, he had almost nothing to do with that box. All he did was wire in Bluetooth and add a safety circuit to the LEDs. I was on EBay last night looking at boxes I have owned throughout the years.
I haven’t looked for or priced out boxes in years. I was truly amazed at the prices people are commanding for these anymore. People are actually paying this kind of money for boomboxes???!!!! Heck even some of the most undesirable ones were in the 2-300.00 dollar range.

The hobby has certainly changed and becoming more mainstream. Prices are growing exponentially so I have adjusted my way of collecting. I use apps like Letgo and Offerup. I have even used FB marketplace to find some incredible deals. For example I recently found a mint Fisher 492 for $40 and a Bombeat 40 for $20. Deals can definitely still be found.
I'm new to collecting and bought my first box in January this year after having owned a few back in the 1980's.
I looks like most of the 1990's boxes are still selling very cheaply, but the desirable late 70's/early 80's boxes are rising in price rapidly, especially on ebay.
I bought a Panasonic RX-CW50F from ebay in Janaury this year for around £40+ postage.
I checked the other night and there are currently a couple of them for sale. One was a 'buy it now' - £270 I think it was.
It look like a minter, but seems well over-priced.
Over the weekend I had another flutter and i've bought a rough Sharp 8989 for around £50 with postage.
It needs some work, but I think I can fix it up for less than the average price of a 8989, which in the UK, seems to be around £150+ at the moment.
