Fair warning to any of our new members: Shiat list champion Xiaosan777168 is back on Ebay selling his wares. I found out about his less than consumer friendly ways first hand many years ago when I received one of his items when I was new to collecting and still had a glint of innocence in my eye. Most of his victims receive their items in many pieces. You can see for yourself if you search his name on this site. Be warned!

10 years ago I got a GF-9191 from him, and it arrived in good shape....but I was surprised at the packing he used. 4-5 layers of very thin styrofoam on each side. No play at all, no crumple zones. Obviously he was trying to use the smallest box he could. Seems like one good hit would have cracked the radio.

Ah, I remember my young foolish self buying my first GF-777 from this seller. And indeed what turned up was a destroyed radio. The case got completely busted during shipping and nothing was working the way it was supposed to.
I spent 150€ to get it back to a barely working state.
Don't learn that lesson first hand if you are looking for a good 777 - buy locally or from collectors who know how to pack these fragile boomboxes!
Needless to say I never got a refund from the guy.
Almost 10 years and about 5 777s later, I have a near mint one that I bought from a seller about 5km from my home for less than 300€. Patience pays off in the end!
So as tempting as it may be, buying from China is very risky business.
Thanks for the heads up!
