931 Power switch just shite the bed

Lasonic's been working fine since I cleaned and installed new belts. Just recently I've noticed the unit's power button doesn't engage. Will play a cassette and power on automatically when inserted, but power button won't catch when just powering on the unit. Is this a common failure?

Does the switch click in and say then click off and retract? It is always possible that it could have internally destructed

Yeah, all of a sudden after a month of non-play the power button refused to engage. I'm glad Lasonic put the fail-safe of where if you insert a cassette it automatically powers on (at least with deck B).
