So I was finally changing the belt on my D8443 and the main board was resting on a post. I guess the weight and stress of the board made the main power switch to lose the little top cap that retains the switch in position. Now I am stuck with this on my hand and I cant figure out the side and way to put it back on place anyone have a clue?

Yeah. It would appear by looking at the photos that the little wire piece slides in a channel on the white plastic slider and acts as a clicker which holds in with a push then releases with another push just like the C100's storage tray design. The square looking hole at the top is where one end of the clicker wire goes. It then loops over into the main body in the middle where the clicker channel is. The metal tab acts like a spring to keep tension on the wire clicker and the white plastic cap slips in on the two plastic tabs on one end and snaps in on the other to hold it all together :-)
