Picked up this little 81# gem off Craigslist tonight.

Not really a boombox but very interesting look and style.

What’s the purpose of the big hole in the middle?

Those are actually supposed to sound extremely good. Does it?

Maybe fit a TV in the hole? Pretty sure it's there to atleast use the dead space that they maybe didn't need for the acoustics.

I have to say that this BT system is something special. Reviews pointed me to think it might be too bass heavy but the treble can be set plenty sharp. Unlike a lot of the big BT portables, this is built to not fatigue your ears and the sound is so balanced and clear. No distortion, but I felt a few more clicks above 'full volume' wouldn't have hurt.

I know it's not a portable, but damn this is way cooler than a soundbar/sub combo.

Next to the TDK, DJ Tech, and Bumpboxx it is the cleanest crisp and deep hitting sound of them all. Obviously being a full plug-in unit it has to be better than those in this scale. If you get the chance to hear one, do it. I had the same reaction to this as when I heard the DJ Tech for the first time.

My wife even commented "this is goosebumps good" and "wow it's beautiful ".

Ps, I know it isn't a boombox. I just saw them being compared to an Aiwa exos 9 on YouTube probably only because they are both bigger Bluetooth systems and I wanted to hear for myself. For the price and the fact there aren't any of these for sale used, I had to buy it. I know what the Aiwa sounds like and this has the spirit of a boombox. I didn't see anyone else post about them.

It is a very interesting design for sure and it looks like it could produce mind blowing sound.

Almost considered on buying the white model when they came out. Quickly squashed that thought.

Why is that? The white/bamboo combo looks really nice I think.

it's for the battery pack, VUs and control panel. Add feet and a handle, you're all set!

Heck. I think I would have to hold a contest. Everyone gather around, drink some beer. Then stick your head through the hole while you slowly crank the volume. See who can last the longest

The hole is useful for carrying, isn't it? Or at 81 lbs can you even do that? At that weight I would need someone on the other side due to my bad back.
