will these belts work in a RC-M70?

I would say the square belt should work fine. It's not that much bigger than the recommended size.

The flat belt might work just fine, but I would worry about it not have enough surface area to work correctly - 3mm vs 5mm.

It’s too wide. You need .139” or narrower, which is just a tad wider than 1/8”. The clutch pulley won’t accept any belt wider than that without rubbing or getting caught.

Belts are getting harder to find all the time. If that site doesn’t have it, go to another.

The 9.2 belt will be too tight and put stress on the motor.

The difference between the small (X) and extra small (Y) for the counter belt is minimal. I wouldn't sweat it on the counter belt.

Y = .035-.039
X = .040-.049

I don't recall where I got this main drive belt for my M70. I had a heck of a time buying at least 2 belts off eBay that were for a "M70" but were too wide. The belt pictured below was the only belt I got that matched the width and it was NOS.

I have it vacuum sealed and in a drawer away from UV in hope that it's still good when I need it. It matches the current belt that works and the way I use my equipment, am sure to need it in the future.

Personally, I would go with that one. :yes:
the FBM-9.6 9.6" x 0.2" FLAT BELT (5.10mm wide) was too wide. the original belt was 3mm wide. i used a FBS-9.6, FBS9.6 (FRX9.6) 9.6" X 0.11" FLAT BELT which was 2.8mm wide. i have a 3mm wide one on the way, maybe i'll change it out when it arrives.

On post #4 of this thread, I already told you that you need a belt 0.139" or narrower. On post #8 of this thread, transistorized showed you a photo of a belt he ordered which matched the original and the package shows the belt was 0.139" wide.

Instead you ordered a belt 0.2" wide. AND what happened? It's too wide.
