Here's the unit I just bought and the sellers e-mail.
Pretty exciting stuff.

Fortunately, all of my boomboxes arrived safe to USA, Mexico, and Europe, but I worry and getting nervous every time until its arrival.

My packaging:
1.Putting device in plastic bag
2. 2-3 layers thin foam
3. bubble wrap 1-2 layers
4. 5cm plastic foam from all sides
5. putting in cardboard box
6.Taping as much as possible to cover all the package
7.marking "Fragile" from all sides.

This packaging is adding 2-3kg but is safest in my practice.

That doesn’t sound like enough bubble wrap to me Steve.
More like 3-4 layers of bubble wrap (large bubbles) cushion foam not plastic foam on the corners.

Take it from me I had a GF-1000 arrive in bits before.
These large Sharps are very vulnerable and I wouldn’t be happy with the above packing description.

For those wondering I paid $700USD for the box and then the shipping on top.
It's coming from Armenia.

He was asking $1200. I used the "make offer" option.

This will be a good (but expensive) test of the shipping process and the trustworthy process from that far away.

I am very excited!

Wow, all the way from the Middle East. You seriously couldn't find anything closer? If it turns Humpty Dumpty on you, buyer protection is going to ask you to mail it back, with tracking. Just look around in the forums and you'll find scores of Humpty Dumpty'd 777's around. It's possibly one of the most cracked boomboxes ever. It's not at all guaranteed to break in transit, but if it does, just keep in mind that the recourse options are more limited than a more localized purchase.

No, nothing was closer (or even for sale) that I saw, And this looks fairly nice.
Overall from what I see, I'm happy and unless there are no surprises, This should be a decent deal for me.
Antena's look fine to me from these pics.

Here a few more pics Rudey, and the original add wording..

Very good condition. Great for collectors. Light usage. It has only some glitch with balance and volume knobs. Volume knob works well, but noise coming in time of turning knob. Balance knob isn't working. Im sure cleaning with contact cleaner will solve that problem. But I don't have contact cleaner and skills to do that. Both cassette decks work well. Some light scratch on volume knob. some bending in one of woofers chrome plate. Light scratch on corner of woofer grills. I cant describe all scratches, but they are not strong and overall item is in beautiful shape. It is hard to find in this shape. Im telling only cons, pros are visable on photos

Well, admittedly, it does look to be in pretty nice cosmetic condition from the images. Static in volume and other controls should be easy to bring back with deoxit. The comment about balance knob not working is concerning. Could indicate a broken control internal feeler. Might be needing deoxit like he says but I've never seen a balance control totally dead that deoxit would bring back. And the comment that he doesn't have deoxit or the skills to squirt some into the controls is a flat out lie.... he has parts galore for sale of GF-777 parts, in complete disassembled state. What does that tell you? Not enough skills to remove chassis and squirt some fluid? And anyone that knows solvent cleaner by name and brand is someone skilled enough to use it.

Really hope you get it in good state, as this is fragile box. Cross fingers and hope for best.

Good to hear ralein1, Very good to hear.

And, yea Super, I was thinking that's not too technical of a job as well...Kind of a weird thing.

I can say he was very patient with me on the back and forth bartering, questions and concerns.
A very up front honest seller would be my overall first impression.
