I noticed my Onkyo 3 head 3 motor deck was squeaking and and was actng sluggish so i decided to really give it a cleaning. Sprayed it all down with compressed air and lubed the main drive motor,no service port on moror #2 (FF&Rew.),just cleaned it good woth compressed air, then cleaned all heads and capstan and pinch roller.
Its now working all great again!!😊😎

3 head decks are always keepers. Glad you got it 100%. Once you hear the sound these decks can produce, everything else (mostly) sounds like garbage. You get used to the sound and the 2 head non pro units are just bla after that.

It took me a while to be able to afford a 3 head machine. Now that I can monitor my recordings live I'll never go back to a 2 head machine unless I have no choice.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Yes, they are very nice indeed. I acquired a Technics RS-BX707 3-Head with the help of another member and have since acquired a matching Technics RS-BX606 3-Head for the same stack.
