I have lost audio on the right channel. I am only able to hear something if the volume is cranked up to the max. There has been an occasional normal response that is only short lived. I think there is a short in the speaker terminal, right channel. Has anyone on the forum had the same experience? On the other hand are there any suggestions on how to test the terminal or other steps to take. I have downloaded the repair manual. I don't think I will be able to do major service. Thanks.

I think your problem might be a dirty volume control or maybe even the dirty function switch control either which can interfere with the stereo operation all you can really do is open the radio up and try to spray some lubricant cleaner into the switches. And the volume control.

Easy way to tell if it's the speaker terminal is to plug in headphones. If it's doing it with those as well that rules out speaker terminal. Another cool thing about plugging in headphones is sometimes the contacts in those get dirty and can cause the sound to drop out on one side. By plugging the headphones in, it can restore connection and it may start working great again.

At that point it's time to give the selector switches and pots a spray as Floyd has stated.
