The latest one I've got my hands on is this Hitachi TRK-W55E which had a problem with playing tapes. On strip, down the belts on deck 2 had nearly disintegrated and was wrapped around the flywheel jamming it. Deck 1 didn't have a belt at all and the reason was the previous owner must have removed it as the motor was constantly running due to one of the screws on the mechanism being too tight so was preventing the auto stop. New belts and a good clean and now running perfectly.

Only one thing left to do and that's the counter belt. It's turning the counter but would still like to put a new one on before it stretches or disintegrates. Looks like a right pain to do, does anyone have a good easy method?

Also, I'm not sure if I like it but is it worth keeping hold of?
