Fark, fark, fark - did'ya see the moving LCD tuner display on the Sanyo at 00:39? Didya, huh??? Dear me, I never thought such a thing existed, can anyone tell me the model number?All in all, a fantastic meet with many, many excellent BB's to cry for.

I think this year was a little bigger than last. There wasn't a food truck in the middle like last year, so the long table was longer. I am working on another video, will post soon.
Next year is the 10th anniversary of this event. Each time I have go, I have thought "I have come home, this is my Mecca". Other than the language barrier, everyone there is generous, welcoming and kind.
The only thing that is strange is that many of these collectors are NOT online. So we may not have seen / heard of them before. It absolutely floors me to meet people that have 420 radios and are not part of this or any online community!
If you saw the artwork / paintings, that is an artist named Maxi. I saw her amazing work last year, but due to the language barrier, I wasn't able to speak with her. Mix in the fact that her and her husbands booth was right next to the DJ speakers (last year) made it really tough to talk. This year I had Max translate for me and I have commissioned her to create a custom piece of art highlighting the TRC-920. I can't wait to see what she comes up with! She doesn't typically ship her work, so she is going to get it to Max who will forward it to me. And again, her and her husband Dieter are not online.
Maxi and Dieter were also selling antenna's for 4 Euro each! If I had the money I would have bought the whole bag. I did get a set for my C-100 though. I took them over to a C-100 at the show and measured them
The time and effort that went into the individual displays was amazing as well. One guy rolls up in a van and over the next few hours proceeds to erect a well thought out display consisting of a tent, stand, radio's, accessories, lights and in one case a MASSIVE sub woofer underneath.

I'll tell ya FD, these dudes are the real deal. We all drive past art work, sometimes we even stop to admire it, but when you see someone laying it down live, seeing how much time is involved, it really changes the way you see these pieces. That wall was facing the sunny side of the building on the west. They started at noon and worked until the sunset and it was HOT! They were in the sun the whole day.Fatdog said:
SLO, this is the mecca of our sport and stands alone in all the Boombox Meets I have seen. There are so many reasons why this simply could not be done in the US. First is the obvious noise issue. These guys were bumping night club volume bass beats from 2pm till 2am outside. Even with a permit, the police are getting called at 10pm! Next is the fact that they have a full bar! They bring and sell beer, wine, cider and liquor to sell to the people who attend. Just imagine what would happen if you tried to do that in the states without a permit! Then there is the food. A guy running a BBQ selling brats. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but in the states, you'd be getting shut down by a visitor from the health department.SLO said:
