Hey, what luck. Just picked up a 3-5286A and this forum has the service manual, outstanding! In good shape, complete. Gonna replace the power supply caps, get some belts for the deck and do an FM alignment. I had been looking for a boombox that had external inputs so I can use my MP3 player on work sites. From what I have read, these are pretty good old radios. I mostly collect vintage Marantz gear but this should be fun to work on!

Tbone8, that’s exactly what I did and it works like a charm now. I hope it lasts another 37 years! If you ever run across a parts machine, I could use a battery door and some switch covers. Enjoy the manual :)

Ken, thank you for that! I’m so very thankful for this site. What a powerful resource! It’s good to have so many people who are interested in boomboxes and music to share and speak to. Everyone at home looks at me like they just don’t understand what I’m on about :). It’s funny to me because I don’t know either. I’m just loving it.

I’m thankful for boomboxery.com, FatDog and the rest of all you wonderful Techno-historians!
