Ebay user "scharly030" from Berlin
Ben-Marcus Hentschel

I purchased a radio from him on 4/22/2018. I didn't receive it. I emailed him on 5/29/2018 and 5/31/2018 asking for a tracking number. He did not reply. Ebay gave me a full refund. I won the radio for a relatively low price, so I suspect he probably decided to sell it to someone else for more money, and hoped I would forget to file a dispute so that he could keep my money. He was wrong.

More likely is that he didn't like the sales price and just decided not to go through with it. Happened to me so many times... sellers nowadays, unlike years past, don't honor sales when they don't like the price and Ebay doesn't even care. I complained a couple of times to eBay and they just matter of factly stated that you got your money back so no problem. Yeah, right. The original eBay auction/sales contract on every sale I guess is no longer a thing anymore. I recall when I first signed up, they made a big deal that a bid is a binding contract, on both the buyer and the seller.

I agree, he might have decided to sell it locally instead of shipping it to me. But if that's what happened, he should have simply cancelled the sale and told Ebay that he lost it or it was broken or something. Instead, he left me hanging for 6 weeks wondering what was going on.

Oh and I notice he also marked it "shipped" even though he didn't.

And this is no newbie either, he has over 3,000 feedback.

Well he can get out of the sale, but what he can’t do is get out of receiving some shiatty feedback.
Actually, after Ebay refunded me, I lost the ability to leave feedback for him
