Last but not least, a MASSIVE thank you to all the Boombox Collectors world wide who support this magazine through purchases and your own social media promotions. This magazine would not exist without you.

Team Effort:
It has been well documented over the years how the Boombox world works together for a common goal. Many times, it’s a one on one effort to find a desired model or missing piece. Some times it’s a full community effort to diagnose a technical problem.

And sometimes, it’s a team effort that brings something to the community as a whole that otherwise would have not been possible. The story below is one such effort.

Last year I was contacted by Boomboxery member DOCS regarding a very rare document that he found online for sale. It was the technical schematics for the first generation Lasonic TRC-931. These documents include the radio receiver board, main amp board and user’s manual. No such documents have ever surfaced for this or any Lasonic. Oddly enough, these documents were for sale on eBay Italy of all places. With his help I was able to make the purchase and upon their arrival was able to confirm that these are indeed original documents and not copies.

Thanks to the professional assistance of Boomboxery member Superduper, these document’s have been properly scanned, digitized and in some part cleaned up to make them easier to read and are now being made available exclusively through www.analogalley.com. These documents, which have been turned into an easy to download PDF file can be printed and added to your collection for technical repairs in a capacity not previously possible. Purchase links are in the magazine.

Just another example of how working as a team makes this global boombox community of collectors stronger!

SIDE NOTE: I have had a close look at both the first and second-generation components and they are extremely similar. It is very possible that these documents contain a great deal of the same components as is in the first generation 931. If you absolutely hit a wall on your repair, the answer could be in the first gen documents. (disclaimer: there is no guarantee that the first gen 931 documents will cover all the components in the second generation 931)

Again, I want to thank everyone that has made issue 6 of Boombox Magazine possible.

As you all know, Lasonic holds a special place for me. If you are a fan of the brand, I think you will enjoy this issue.

Chris, I should’ve suggested that you reach out to Vlad in TX and see if he could do some risqué girlie photo shoots for you.
I'd be afraid of what he would come up with
