Hey everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this. I have found this box and it works great, but one problem. The tuner needle does not work. I have taken it apart and it seems one of the pulleys broke. I am working on fixing this, but have no idea how the string is routed. Does anyone have a picture or a diagram of this routing? Anything that can help me out?

Thanks Everyone.

OK next question as you can see from my picture the pulley between 4 and 5 is broken. I have most of the pieces but gluing back together is proving to be a chore and I am afraid it is just going to break again. Has anyone found a good way to fix this problem?

Thanks again guys.

I wouldn’t bother trying to repair the old string as it’s under a fair amount of tension. I normally use a string from a parts box and just adjust the length to exactly match the old string (luckily you still have the original for measuring purposes). The thickness of the string should, in an ideal world, be similar to the original.

Not sure where you would find new string commercially. Maybe someone here can help with a supplier.

Don’t forget to apply a little lube to the pullies (don’t get any lube on the string)!!!!!!

Hey Jimmy, sorry I may not have been clear. The string I have is in great condition, no problem at all. It is the pulley that is the problem. If you look at my picture bottom left, there should be a pulley there. The plastic housing exploded into about 10 small pieces. I am trying to figure a way to repair that.
Thanks.

Normal super glue should be used to piece the bits back together. Then the whole area should be smothered with JB Weld. Let it dry over a 48 hour period before loading the string. Remember, the super glue is only used to hold everything in place to give the JB Weld time to cure. The repair will look like crap but it’s internal so no one will ever see it.

I used this method with some screw posts on my TRK-7620 with excellent results.
