Hi all;

I discovered this site while searching for reviews on the GPO Brooklyn and found T-STER's excellent run-down on the model. I had no idea boomboxes had such a following and am delighted to know they're still so popular.

I owned a series of units in the 80's; mostly Sharp (and one Aiwa), two of which still survive; a Sharp GF555 and WQ-T232 (last of the 'military' styling). The 555 is in excellent condition (externally - I'm not sure how the insides are!) and I still have the user manual and demo cassette. The WQ-T232 was adapted to take a 12V input so I could play it in the post office vans I used to drive. I haven't tested either in a very long time...

I purchased a GPO Brooklyn which was shipped out by Cuckooland and arrived on the doorstep just 55 hours later.

I'm really looking forward to acquiring information on getting my old units up and running.
