Silver ST-858

Hi everyone,

This is my first post so I hope I'm doing this right and I'm in the right place.
I'm trying to get my Silver ST-858 to work, at first the RW and FF would work but not the play. I'm missing two buttons as well but I don't think that would affect it. Anyway I finally got all three to work but now when it's in play the solenoid won't stop clicking. I'm so tired of pulling it apart and putting it back together. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome! I wasn’t initially going to respond as I thought the name ‘wogboy’ was incredibly offensive...I googled it just in case it had an alternative meaning and found the Australian comedy film from 2000...so it clearly has a less offensive meaning in Australia! Phew 😅

Ok so the solenoid normally does the auto stop so maybe the belt is a little too tight?

Sorry I didn't really think about how my site name might be taken the wrong way. I'm from a Italian family and I had grown up with some of my best friends calling me that, and I've never taken offence to it.

Thanks for the tip on the solenoid. I'll give it a go with different belts.
