As many of you know, my original white M70 was run over by my wife's SUV. I was able to salvage some of the internals but externally it was toast. Thanks to my friend Gordie I was able to complete this project and the white M70 is reborn! Everytime I paint a box I learn something new. It literally takes hours of sanding and prep work to get a boomer ready for paint. If the surface is perfectly smooth the paint looks buttery smooth. My process involves using heat to dry each individual coat I apply, including the clear coat. I apply 4 light and even coats of paint and 3 coats of clear. This will result in a glass smooth, very hard finish, and cut down on the curing time. Anyone who has successfully painted a box knows how much labor goes into it. For me it is a labor of love as I will get years of enjoyment out of having a one of a kind boombox.....enjoy the pics...and believe me the pics do not do this one justice!!
