Pioneer SK-21 restore job

Will be getting one this weekend... Its dirty, needs knob greased, tape deck not working... Got a manual off the web for $4.99 shows how to take back off but what a chore beyond that, anyone have done this excate model??

Any help would be GRATEFUL!!!

I’ve worked on a couple. All wires are soldered instead of plugs. You can try search under Pioneer SK21 restorations. ;-)

I’ve worked on a couple. All wires are soldered instead of plugs. You can try search under Pioneer SK21 restorations. ;-)

Bill has even used a Pantie Hose of "Marilyn Monroe" for fixing the speaker grills of Pioneer! That gentleman knows all the tricks of the trade! :lol:

I wish I would have thought of that , like the old panty hose commercial says , nothing beats a great pair of leggs lol.

So how does this fix this poor ole' box? Needs knobs cleaned, balance only works on right side.,shorts out with volume all the way down on left {blasts!}and looks like it was duesd in POP!

Was an old broadcast school owned in my home-town area. I'm sure many students had their grubs on it in the day...

Definetly needs good cleaning inside and out. All switches and pots cleaned. Your best bet is to read some of the restoration pages ;-). It’s not an easy box to restore
