New Floorstanders!

After 2 years of my Tibo Extreme floorstanders, I wanted something better as I knew my Dolby Digital receiver was capable of a lot more...............

Enter on this very day: The Mighty Wharfedale Xarus 5000 Floorstanding Speakers!! These things are HUGE & I couldn't wait to get them in position & start testing

These speakers are simply stunning, I remember why I always loved Wharfies as a lad - they sound simply incredible!! Lows & highs are excellent & vocals & stereo imaging are astonishing

Looking forward to the weekend - they will be properly tested over next couple of days!!
Decent Speakers are never cheap & while the Tibo's served me well, they will be moving on & have now been retired to the hallway!!

once somebody gave me a gigantic pair of Polk audios for fixing his car and I ended up selling them but goddam those were the best speakers I ever owned.

Yeah I am well aware of Wharfedale 1970's dome tweeters blowing with a sudden increase in volume, I think these are more durable though as I have been pumping out a lot of 90's dance stuff with a lot of treble content & these speakers are simply effortless at delivering amazing bass & treble!! Midrange is a little lacking but I prefer that which is another reason I wanted these!! They are powerful, loud but not too much of either, just what I wanted!

Those speakers look great. I too love large floor standing speakers and have a pair of Linn Keltics in my front room. :0)
