Although it may need some improvements on the legs it just like the original Technics 1200 which were also considered for Hi Fi audiophiles plus at that time 1972 when they were issued they sold for around $400 which today would be around $2,000 so is history repeating itself........yes!

But who cares these are beautiful turntables with some improvements.

Here's the 1200GR which Technics consider these for the DJ.

I found 2 sl 1200 mk 2's in the back of a van at the junkyard and the owner gave them to me for free . I sold both on eBay within 5 minutes.
Those were something else , most awesome turntables I've ever seen.

WTF! Free 1200s. Still surprises me people don't think to google or ask someone what they about to throw out. I probably paid bit much for my good pair ($1800 with a mixer) could probably make my money back on the poor condition $500 pair.

The junkyard owner didn't give a **** about them, he told me that lol .
I bought a plug for my head light bulb and ended up with 2 free turntable's that I sold because I needed the money and they sold almost as fast as I listed them .

I'll tell you what that junkyard is a gold mine , there were several old skool head units, eq,s and speakers that are hard to come by and he sells that **** dirt cheap but I didn't have time or the right tools or I woulda cleaned the motherfukers out.

Well I have about 30 records and 5 boomboxes that play records so I didn't see a need for a DJ setup.
These ****ing turntables were the **** I mean the real deal by I'm too poor to keep things like that.

The Technics 1200 G/GR turntables are nice decks with some good new features and improvements to the classic design but at the money they're being sold for these decks are overpriced, not cheap in my opinion and the costs involved would put off most of the DJ's I've spoken to about them.

You can still get hold of original 1200/10's second hand and if you're prepared to shell out a little extra cash for mods such as an external PSU ,improved tonearm and a few other small modifications you could actually have a deck which would be equal to the GR models, in fact it would probably be better and for a significantly smaller amount of money in the process.

I have one of these luckily though..I got my Technics 1200 LTD back in the mid 1990s for £500 when my local hi fi dealers was selling off the last of their remaining stock.

Mine is number #77 of the 10,000 models which were manufactured.

Cheers dude !

Lol..I really did think I had the ultimate bragging rights when it comes to the Technics with my 1200 LTD but then my mate Joe kindly sent me this photo a little while back of what the postman had just brought for him that morning to remind me that I didn't have them any longer...

I asked him if he was gonna take them out of the boxes and have a play with them but they're going straight up into his loft for the next 15 years apparently !

Danswizzle I hate your mate Joe! LOL

The GAE has some cool features quite an upgrade but the price too steep for me but if I had the $$$$ hell yes!

Now for a collector it can be a good investment. Some may have a different opinion but people need to understand when the original 1200 came out in the 70's the price was around $400 in today's money it's about $2000. Some say this turntable should be for HiFi guys only. I say "fark that" us DJ's did Technics such a big favor! In fact we are the one's that actually prove to everyone about the performance of the 1200. A HiFi guy would just sit with his glass of wine and listen to classical music and that's it. We took it and beat the hell out of this machine and it did it's job night after night.

Just see what this guy does to it:

PSSST Danswizzle your mate stole your thunder! :-D
