Hi All,

I am helping a friend find a part for a university. I need 2 transistors. The issue is that chip manufactors sell transistors by rolls of 50, which cost hundreds of dollars !

I only need 2. Are there any electronic parts houses that cater to the little guy / hobbist ?
( i.e. that deal in small quantities? )

I read that MRF6VP41KHR6 can be used in radio, but in this case it is to fix an ultrasonic generator.

Thanks!

MRF6VP41KHR6 is obsolete, but if they were still available, AliExpress had them for $113.

This end-of-life page at Freescale says it's been superceded by MRF6VP41KHR5, so when I searched for that, DigiKey has them for $456 and Mouser for $439 but they aren't really an option, since you have to buy a reel of 50 (>$20,000).

There's an ebay auction for a more reasonable $178.

I would be very wary of those ebay parts - most of the semiconductors are FAKES out of china and that's exactly where the seller is based.
Especially high value RF transistors.
I just wouldn't take the gamble because even if the device doesn't chernobyl at some stage, it could easily destroy other parts of the unit.

Man, I hate it when parts go full on "Chernobyl". Nothing ruins my day more!
(never heard that word used that way)

Sorry, back to your conversation!

BUMP!
