Introductions;
Me,
Olde school 80's gal grew up in Seattle. I was 16 in 1980 when it was the beginning of these ghetto blasters heading into their intro prime.
A.C.-D.C. on a 24lb. Sanyo thin bodied stand-up (no detactable speakers on this one) boasted 52w for 2 channesl! 3 speaker system, tape guards and all! Back in Black!!!
I saw these boxes NEW in stores, Sears, Radio shack, Fred Meyer, Kmart, home Stereo store's too.
Just thought I'd share but NO pics left.... :rock: :bang:

Yep, I was 15 in '80. Really miss those days, it would be awesome to go back then and buy as many boxes as I could and bring them back!

I had a Sanyo M9990 that I rec'd for Christmas back in the day. Carried that thing to school some days. Funny, never got grieved for carrying it into classes. Interesting how times have changed.

Just a short lived flurry down here in London, wish it was more, I miss the proper snow I used to get growing up in the Black Country.

Welcome fellow NWer :-) I'm curious what model Sanyo it was.
Barb I remember those days, they'd even let me set it on my desk all day. We'd have all sorts of fun recording each other in class and on the bus. Good times!
